This is the beginning stages of my creative process for creating the Consider His Heavens event logo. For this project I wanted to communicate two primary things, a childlike wonder, and the pricelessness of being able to see God's creation.

          My primary difficulty was figuring out how to communicate this in a way that made it clear to the viewer that this was an astrophotography event. To accomplish this, I began experimenting with ways to convey the initials of CHH while combining them with galaxy, star, sun, and moon elements. However, as I kept designing and drawing, I found that incorporating a camera lens and a "C" really worked well, and I added a star to strengthen the "lens" portion of the communication.  

          I finally settled on the shape to the right of the "roughs" section on the page as something that best communicated what I wanted to convey. After some further drafting digitally on Illustrator, I was able to produce a finished design that I was very proud of, and I am very pleased to be able to present it here as well.
